This area has nice houses, lush gardens, beaches, as well as cafes and restaurants over-viewing the fjord.
You will have the entire studio for yourself, including an adjacent private bathroom, a washing-machine and a well-equipped kitchen-area for self-catering. In addition you will be able to use free WiFi and TV.
The studio has a capacity for up to 3 adults (one double-bed, one sofa-bed 120x200 cm). The windows from the studio are facing the garden/private and quiet road.
The neighborhood is peaceful with lush gardens and is situated close to the Royal Manor and the Royal summer residence where you will feel as if being in the countryside and still only 12 minutes from the city center by ferry/bus.
Breakfast (consisting of home made rolls, butter, cheese, marmalade/jam, coffee/tea and milk) is not included in the price, but can be requested. Prize NOK 60,00 / person.
The guests will share: a garden with tables and chairs, trampoline for children, parking.
The hostess will meet guests upon arrival, giving advice regarding getting around, detailed local map, timetables for ferry/bus and information on how to hire city bikes. The house is our residence.
I recommend my guests to take a morning run around parts of the Bygdøy-peninsula, take a bath on one of the nearby beaches and barbecue while watching the boats to/from the harbor.
I recommend my guests to take their children on a visit to the Royal manor, to watch the sheep, cows and horses and let them go for a ride on one of the ponies.
The peninsula has many interesting museums worth visiting, all within walking distance from the house: The Folk Museum, The Vikingship Museum, The Kontiki Museum, The Fram Museum, The Maritime Museum, The Holocaust Center.
Arriving from one of the three Oslo-airports (Gardermoen/Rygge/Torp) to the Bus terminal/the Central Station: take bus no. 30 westwards named Bygdøy, outside the main entrance of the Central Station and get off at the bus station named Folkemuseet.
To get to the house you will need 2 minutes.
Cross the street from the bus stop, walk straight forward, cross the street Dronninghavnveien, continue straight towards Museumsveien and when you reach the first little road to the left, this will be Mellbyedalen. No. 3 is our house.
2 minutes walk from the house to the ferry (that will take you to the City hall/Aker Brygge)
2 minutes walk to the bus stop, Folkemuseet, from where you can take the bus no. 30, bringing you to the city center/Royal Castle/Karl Johan street.
HusreglerI expect my guests to behave in a correct manner and leave the studio as tidy and organized as possible.
Smokers should respect other non-smokers among the guests, while smoking outside.

Mrs Jo ´s studio is very modern and well equipped with all the appliances and accesories that ones need to have a very comfortable stay in Oslo. The neigborhood is very nice and it can be very easily reached by public bus. Many of the important museums are within walking distance from the house. Mrs Jo is a very nice and kind host that is always available there to assist you to make your stay an unforgettable one !!. We stayed at Jo's bed and breakfast in the beautiful Oslo area of Bygdoy. It was very clean and a lovely set up. We enjoyed it there very much! It was within walking distance of many museums and close to the ferry that takes you to the mainland. Jo was super nice and helpful!
We had a fantastic stay at Jo' s apartment. She gave us a very warm welcome. Everything was clean. The beds great. Wifi available. The apartment is in a very quiet neighborhood on the Bygdoy island. The vikingship museum and Norsk Folklore museum are just around the corner. Also on a few minutes walk is the harbour for the water taxi to Oslo centre and the rest of rhe museums.
Not suitable for people in wheelchair because of the steps up.
